A BRIEF HISTORY

In 1978 Popular Lures and Pro Bass were bought by an innovator and pioneer in the fishing industry. In 1981 Popular Lures and Pro Bass merged to become, BASSIN', the official "how-to" magazine. Shortly thereafter, BASSIN' was named by the readers THE weekend angler's magazine.

The 1990's and 2000's brought many wonderful how to tips and tricks through the pages of BASSIN' like no other publication and introduced the Big Bass World Championship to its readers...giving away over 5 millions dollar in prizes and money to a simple "weekend angler." Over the years, BASSIN' has had the top honor of being the #1 sold magazine in the outdoor section of Wal-Mart stores nationwide.

In 2012, still suffering from the huge hit on the economy, BASSIN' was purchased by Brad Uhl, who had worked at the magazine over the past 13 years. In 2013, BASSIN' went back to its roots, and published 6 magazines again for the first time in over 8 years.

In 2017, with substantial growth on the newsstand and subscriptions on the rise, BASSIN' went back to its original 7 issue schedule.

BASSIN’ magazine is the number one bass fishing "HOW-TO" magazine for the weekend angler. It teaches and explains to you the best way to approach and determine the most effective way to catch the most fish in your outing. No matter what the future of fishing may bring, it is nice to know you can still find a hidden trick or tip in the pages of BASSIN’ magazine.

Packed with "how to" information, BASSIN' also listened to its readers, and provides each magazine with the newest products in reviews from around the globe. 

BASSIN' was proud to announce for 2019, a first time ever, 8 total issues for the year. By listening to you, our readers, we have compiled each issue with a specific theme to bring you the best product reviews for you, to help you catch more fish!

BASSIN' has continued that pattern, and with Fresh Water Media Group holding the reines, will be doing 8 issues again in 2020!
